Police said the investigation began after the victim reported receiving a photo of her apartment bathroom from Inserra on June 2, 2026, one day after the couple ended their relationship. The victim told officers she had not invited him into the apartment and believed all entrances had been secured. Officers noted that details in the photo matched the interior of the home.
Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Inserra’s cellphone. According to the affidavit, the photo stored on the device contained location data that placed the phone at the victim’s residence when the images were taken. Police said the images showed areas inside and outside the apartment, including the bathroom photo that had been sent to the victim.
Detectives also reviewed text messages and call records. Police said Inserra sent dozens of messages and made numerous phone calls to the victim after she told him to stop contacting her and said she planned to seek a restraining order. Investigators said some messages said he was inside the apartment waiting for her.
The affidavit further alleges that Inserra impersonated a Boca Raton police dispatcher while attempting to contact the victim.
Based on the evidence collected, investigators charged Inserra with burglary, aggravated stalking and false impersonation of a police officer.
