The early rotation pressure inside the Exactech Arena was felt from the first serve on

Friday evening. LSU found itself in an uphill battle against No. 5 Florida squad, relying on quick back-row adjustments to try to slow down the Gators’ attack. Trailing 14-11 midway through the first set, LSU suffered a devastating blow when Robinson went down with an injury being helped off the court in visible distress.

Florida’s high-efficiency offense established a quick rhythm out of the gate, using targeted serves to throw off LSU. Despite the early four-point deficit, the Tigers stayed within arm’s reach by their net defense and forcing Florida into long rallies.

LSU’s serve receive showed resilience under heavy heat, battling through tough line drives to keep the ball in play. With the opening set still close midway through, both teams traded physical swings at the net. LSU will need to maintain its discipline along the front line and limit errors to tighten the gap down the stretch.

The gators dialed up their baseline heat from the service line and forced LSU into out-of-system passes, preventing the Tigers from organizing an effective middle attack. Florida scored four points down the stretch to quickly pull away and close out the set, 25-18.

The second set started tight, locked at 10-10 as Florida’s power hitters continued to test LSU’s block along the net. With Robinson still on the sidelines early in the frame, the Tigers struggled to match Florida’s momentum, allowing the Gators to put together a run and build a 16-4 advantage. However, LSU received a massive boost when Robinson made a return to the court mid-set, re-energizing the Tigers’ offense.

Despite LSU’s rally, Florida’s middle took control when it mattered most. The Gators really ramped up the pressure from the service line, claiming the second set, 25-21. Florida carried its late set momentum into the third set, with an early 10-14 lead, the Gators’ offense continued to wear down LSU’s block. The Gators continued to pull away, stretching their lead to 20-13 by capitalizing on quick transition scoring opportunities. Despite the loss, LSU put up a fight in the final sequence, sparking a long rally at match point. A late serve receive mistake brought match point with Florida taking the third set 25-14, a sweep against the Tigers.

With the loss, LSU falls to 8-10 on the season and 3-6 in SEC play, while Florida continues near the top of the conference standings.

The Tigers won’t have much time to dwell on the sweep, as they look to regroup and recharge before their next game versus Auburn on the road on Saturday at 2 p.m.
