ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but if the Tampa Bay Rays win the World Series, there is a lot of talk about where the celebration would be held.
Because as we know, eventually the team plans to move across the bay to Tampa. But right now, they call St. Pete home.
Spectrum News spoke to Tampa Mayor Jane Castor about it Friday.
And it sounds like if the Rays are the champs, we’ll see a celebration spanning both cities.
“There may be one continuous parade that comes from St. Pete all the way to Tampa, so we will have a celebration that the Tampa Bay Rays deserve here in Tampa Bay, and we’re going to go for a boat parade,” Castor said.
Mayor Castor say she is working with St. Pete Mayor Ken Welch on these potential plans.
