It’s time to break out the jeans and sweaters.
Southwest Florida is about to receive a chilly reception about 1½ months before fall ends.
Fort Myers and Cape Coral weather Monday call for mostly sunny skies, with a temperature rising to near 72 by 10 a.m. before falling to around 65 during the remainder of the day, the National Weather Service reported on its site.
Winds will be breezy, north-northwest 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Monday night
Expect partly cloudy, with a low around 40 Monday night. Winds from the north will blow around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph, NWS said.
By Tuesday, Veterans Day, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 61 and wind chill values as low as 33 early. North northeast winds will be 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, the weather agency said.
Inland Lee County will experience lows in the 40s, while coastal Lee County will stay in the mid-40s.
While there’s a freeze expected, the NWS recommends protecting sensitive vegetation from the low to mid-40s temperatures. Even brief exposure to cold can harm tropical plants.
By Tuesday night, expect partly cloudy skies with a low around 45. Winds will be north-northeast around 7 mph.
And when Wednesday arrives, Southwest Florida will return more to normal weather, with a forecast of of mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
What about the rest of Florida
Some regions of North Florida can expect the first frost and freeze of the season and chill temperatures will reach below Central Florida in the coming days.
