TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The state of Florida is trying to hire more officers to staff its correctional facilities with recently announced recruitment incentives.
Recruitment incentives are being rolled out for new hires at a number of institutions, the second attempt to boost recruiting this year.
The Florida Department of Corrections announced bonuses that would be available at 11 correctional institutions statewide, according to a press release.
More news out of the Big Bend:
Across the Big Bend, those include Hamilton and Taylor counties, which are both offering new $1,000 hiring bonuses and expanding eligibility for the $5,000 bonus launched this summer, according to the press release.
Franklin Correctional, Suwanee Correctional and Wakulla are all implementing the expanded $5,000 bonus as well.
