Miami, FL – Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro reportedly left Brazil with his family Tuesday night and was expected to arrive in Miami amid ongoing criminal investigations.

Bolsonaro, 45, departed following his defeat to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Sunday’s presidential runoff election.

Argentine immigration authorities confirmed Bolsonaro entered Argentina with his wife, Fernanda Antunes Figueira Bolsonaro, and their two daughters through the Tancredo Neves International Bridge.

The family crossed the border at approximately 10:50 p.m. Tuesday with valid travel documents and no reported immigration restrictions.

Approximately 40 minutes later, they boarded a private aircraft operated by Baires Fly S.A., traveling toward Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Flight tracking information indicated an aircraft matching the description subsequently departed Ecuador toward Miami’s Opa-locka Executive Airport.

The Trump administration reportedly granted visas to Bolsonaro and his family Tuesday.

His departure followed a Brazilian Supreme Court order requiring him to surrender his regular and diplomatic passports.

Bolsonaro faces investigations involving alleged corruption, money laundering and tax evasion.

One investigation concerns allegations involving fraudulent government pension deductions and a sports betting operation. Another examines alleged financial transactions involving a banker accused of misconduct.

Bolsonaro has denied wrongdoing and described the investigations as politically motivated.

Lula defeated Bolsonaro by approximately 4.4 million votes in Sunday’s runoff election.

Bolsonaro’s Senate term expires January 31, 2027, potentially affecting legal protections associated with his office.

His father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, is serving a 27-year sentence following his conviction for attempting to overturn Brazil’s 2022 presidential election results.
