Their work extends far beyond the pulpit, from championing foster care, to helping the Frenchtown neighborhood, they have made their mark on the Capital City.
“As a pastor and wife for 40 years, we hope we are contributing to the future of this community by building hope, by building ministries, by building and strengthening families and encouraging young people,” Rev. Dr. Holmes said.
His wife, Dr. Gloria P. Holmes has also dedicated years of service and was surprised and grateful that her name was included.
“Giving back to the community is just critically important,” Dr. Holmes said. “Blessing people, blessing their lives, that is what the lord has called us to do and that is what we are determined to continue doing.”
Dr. Reverend and Dr. Holmes both said their work isn’t over. They hope to continue to help the community solve problems with housing, mental health and violence.
