With less than a week until Election Day, Florida governor candidates David Jolly and Byron Donalds held rallies Thursday to energize supporters and address key issues.
Prominent Florida Democrats pumped up the crowd in Central Florida before Jolly took the stage at the Iron Workers Union.
“Folks, I’m here to tell you tonight we’re gonna win this race, we’re going to win the governorship,” Jolly said.

At the same time Thursday night, Donalds rallied supporters in South Florida.
“In five days, we are going to win, we are going to keep Florida free, and we are going to keep Florida red,” Donalds said.
Both candidates touched on a range of topics, including hurricanes, healthcare, the economy and affordability.
“The values are simple. We believe the economy should work for everybody. It’s a value, it’s a principle. Listen, economic growth is a good thing. It creates opportunity, particularly in a capitalist economy, but when the economy is not working for everybody, then it’s not really working,” Jolly said.
Donalds emphasized affordability as a top concern.
“We all know affordability is the number one issue going on right now. I know it too. We want you to afford Florida; we want our seniors on a fixed income to continue to live out their golden years here in Florida. And we want young people to build great lives and own a home, get married, have kids. We want them to do that here in Florida,” Donalds said.
Jolly also highlighted the importance of winning over voters in parts of Central Florida.
“We don’t have to win everyone, right? We’re not going to win every Republican voter. We just have to win enough, and I think in areas in Osceola, we’re gonna see that happen,” Jolly said.
Both candidates expressed confidence as they worked to reach undecided voters in the final days of their campaigns.
“We’re not looking back; we are looking forward to taking our state to a whole nother level,” Donalds said.
