TAMPA BAY, Fla. (WINK)—Florida’s first advanced air mobility electric aircraft demonstration flights took off over Tampa Bay.
The aircraft was part of the FAA’s Integration Pilot Program. Gov. Ron DeSantis said the new pilot program included cargo delivery and emergency services.
DeSantis also said the program could offer air taxi services. He said the public-private program would run with FAA oversight.
The goal was travel from Miami to Orlando without using roads. Real-world operations were expected by the end of 2026.
