In-person Early Voting has ended. On Election Day you must vote at your assigned precinct from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Or you can drop off your Mail ballot at your local supervisor of elections’ office. In Orlando, the Orange County Supervisor of Elections confirmed to WESH-2 that at least five trees had swastikas painted on them outside of an Early Voting site.
New College of Florida wants to take an unconventional debt structure to acquire the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus
New College of Florida needs more than $47 million to fund its controversial takeover of USF’s Sarasota-Manatee campus. Its Finance and Administration committee voted Friday to take on an unconventional debt structure, which often results in a higher interest rate. New College was only able to secure a $40 million loan from BankUnited. But an unnamed “accredited investor” would loan the college the remaining $7.5 million.

Write-in candidate Erik Morris wants to change how Florida funds schools, regulates insurance and approves data centers. Libertarian Scott Jewett says the state can do more to bring down the cost of living.
A vigil in Tampa calls for an end to local police cooperation with ICE
The Tampa Immigrants Rights Committee held a vigil Sunday evening at Centennial Park in Ybor City. The vigil combined Day of the Dead remembrance with calls to end local law enforcement’s cooperation with ICE. Participants honored people who organizers say died because of ICE violence.
