MIAMI —
Because of high water conditions impacting the rail corridor in Brevard County, Brightline on Monday temporarily suspended service between Orlando and West Palm Beach.
Train service between Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach is operating normally. Brightline encourages guests to monitor www.GoBrightline.com, the Brightline app and social media channels for the latest service updates.
“The safety of our guests, team members and the communities we serve remains our highest priority. Maintenance personnel are on scene, and train service will resume when conditions allow safe movement through the area,” Brightline said in a news release.
The private company said rail infrastructure teams are actively monitoring conditions in coordination with Florida East Coast Railway throughout the rail corridor. Once water levels recede, all tracks, signals and crossings in the affected area will be thoroughly inspected before passenger service resumes.
Guests with affected reservations will be contacted directly regarding their travel options. Additional information will be provided as assessments of the affected area continue and a timeline for the resumption of service is determined.
