PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. —
Significant water accumulation in St. Lucie West is creating hazardous driving conditions and making several roadways difficult to navigate.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department is urging motorists to avoid the area unless travel is absolutely necessary. “Please do not attempt to drive through standing water. Turn around, find an alternate route, and never underestimate the depth or power of floodwaters,” PSLPD said.
Officers are actively responding to calls involving vehicles stranded in high-water conditions. “We are continuing to monitor conditions and will provide updates as road closures and other traffic impacts develop,” PSLPD said.
“Please stay safe, stay off the roads if possible, and give emergency responders room to work,” PSLPD said.
The department added, “We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we navigate these conditions together.”
