In Monday’s (11/10) Jacksonville Daily Record (Florida), Monty Zickuhr writes, “The Jacksonville Symphony announced Nov. 10 that it named Alison Bolton as vice president and general manager. The symphony said Bolton will oversee production operations and performance logistics, including rehearsals, engagements and concerts. Her responsibilities will include managing concert production, setting and monitoring budgets, overseeing touring and recording projects and administering labor agreements with musicians and stagehands. She will serve as the primary liaison between musicians and symphony leadership…. Bolton previously was San Diego Symphony managing director of artistic planning. Before that, she was vice president, artistic and orchestra operations for the Nashville Symphony and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, among other roles with those organizations…. Bolton has a master’s in music, viola performance/music history from the University of Akron and a bachelor’s in music, viola performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.”
