ORLANDO, Fla. – Flames ripped through an Orlando apartment complex early Thursday, displacing seven residents, although no one was seriously injured, officials said.

The fire broke out at the Royal Isles apartment homes off Roberto Clemente Road near Semoran Boulevard.

The Orlando Fire Department said crews received a 911 call and arrived to find flames shooting out of multiple second-floor windows.

Crews extinguished the fire before it extended to any further apartments, fire officials said.

All of the occupants were out of the building prior to OFD arriving, officials said.

“(It was) very scary because somebody’s life (is) in danger,” a witness told News 6. “It happened right while we were asleep. It could have been my family. Luckily, it didn’t happen to us, and we got out safe and sound.”

Fire officials said four residents were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening medical complaints. All the patients refused any further treatment.

There were no injuries to any other civilians or firefighters.

The Red Cross was notified to assist residents from two apartments, and the apartment management company was assisting with relocation within the complex, OFD said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
