The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application that was filed by the Jacksonville-based Foresite Group on Oct. 1.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Adventure Landing in St. Augustine, which sits right by the St. Augustine Premium Outlets could soon close its doors for commercial redevelopment.
Nick Richardson, a Jacksonville native, says his monthly trips to St. Augustine are soon to be changed.
“One less fun thing to do. I kind of feel like a lot of fun things are disappearing lately,” Richardson said. “I kind of want to know the reason for closing. Maybe they can explore options to keep it open somehow.”
Those other options bring up many questions that people want answers to.
The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application that was filed by the Jacksonville-based Foresite Group in Oct. 1st. In the filing, it has plans that say, “The entire Adventure Landing development will be demolished and redeveloped with new commercial sites.”
In a statement from the St. Johns River Water Management District: they said in part quote— “The request, submitted on October 1st by Foresite Group, LLC, is under review. No permit has been issued, and the district is evaluating the information provided by the applicant.”
We asked a manager at Adventure Landing about the potential closing Tuesday, but they declined to comment.
Although things are still uncertain about what could be redeveloped here, visitors like Richardson say they can’t imagine the possibility.
“A lot of things are going away. It kind of sucks, I don’t know how else to say it,” Richardson said.
