PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — The Pinellas Park Police Department (PPPD) said it is assisting the Pinellas Park Fire Department with a large fire in the 5300 block of 62nd Avenue North.
Neighbors in a Pinellas Park neighborhood were advised to remain indoors due to a fire with possible hazardous chemicals.
Fire officials lifted the shelter-in-place order at 12:30 a.m. on November 15.
Ryan Mitchell, Division Chief of EMS, said neighbors saw fog and smelled an odor so they called to report it.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a storage unit at an industrial business.
Mitchell did not give specifics regarding the chemicals found in the storage unit.
The Pinellas County Hazmat team responded along with Lealman Fire Rescue, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue and Largo Fire Rescue.
One firefighter was transported, but is expected to be okay.
