ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando business owners are hoping for a big economic spike from two sporting events in 2027.
An international women’s volleyball competition is coming to downtown Orlando in August 2027 and the Jacksonville Jaguars might play their 2027 NFL season at Camping World Stadium.

University of Central Florida economist Dr. Sean Snaith said the events will boost Orlando as a top sports tourist destination
Restaurant manager Fernando Aragon said it’s great when the Orlando Magic games at the Kia Center bring in business like he got from the game Friday night, and two big sports events would be huge for his team’s game plan.
The KIA Center is scheduled to host eight days of volleyball action in August 2027 when the Women’s Volleyball World Championships roll into downtown Orlando. The event is also qualified for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Super Rico Colombian Restaurant has been located a few blocks from the Kia Center for a decade, and managers said an eight-day event there will bring lots of hungry fans their way.
“Every time there’s a Magic game, Orlando soccer events, any of that, it’s always good for us. Yeah, absolutely,” Aragon said.
The Jacksonville Jaguars want to play their eight home games at Camping World Stadium during the 2027 season while they renovate their own stadium. If the NFL gives final approval, that would bring tens of thousands of fans to downtown Orlando for each game.
University of Central Florida economist Dr. Sean Snaith said NFL games would bring in huge revenue, but even regional tournaments offer a strong economic boost.
“You’re talking about bringing in not just players and coaches and support staff, but fans, media — all sorts descending on the area. They’ve got to stay somewhere, they need places to eat. They need transportation.” Snaith said.
Snaith adds that Central Florida is already one of the top sports tourism destinations in America, and any events like the ones scheduled for 2027 help strengthen Orlando’s economy even more.
