One person was killed in Davie on Sunday morning after a fire broke out at a mobile home, fire rescue said.

According to Davie Fire Rescue, crews arrived at the scene at 8520 SW 21st Court, where they found a single-wide mobile home that was fully involved with fire and smoke.

Video shows the mobile home on fire as neighbors rushed out of their homes after smelling the smoke and fire.

Thick black heavy smoke was also seen emitting from the home.

“The flames were so high, and I started hearing popcorn, like, ‘pop, pop, pop,'” a woman said.

Neighbors told NBC6 that they started banging on the home’s windows to see if anybody was trapped inside.

“My husband stopped, and he said, ‘Let’s break the windows,’ so they took a planter and threw it through the window, but all the smoke started coming out, and that’s when he backed up.”

As crews extinguished the fire, they found one person inside the mobile home who was pronounced deceased.

Their identity has not been released.

The cause of the fire is not known, and an investigation is being conducted by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Davie Fire Rescue and Davie Police.
