Florida gas prices were on the decline before suddenly rising last week.
The state average for a gallon of gas peaked at $2.96, up from starting at $2.84, according to AA – The Auto Club Group.
The new price is 6.5 cents higher than a week ago, 5 cents lower than last month and 21 cents lower than this time last year.
“Florida gas prices continue fluctuating on a weekly basis,” said spokesman Mark Jenkins. “Last week, the state average rebounded after dropping 13 cents in 9 days. Fortunately, pump prices remain on the low end of what drivers have paid this year.”
