PORT ST. LUCIE − The body of a 5-year-old boy was found in a lake late on Nov. 17 after the child was reported missing hours earlier, according to Port St. Lucie Police.
Neymir Luka Valere last was seen about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 17 in the 5200 block of Northwest Wisk Fern Circle, which is between Florida’s Turnpike and Northwest East Torino Parkway.
His body was found in a neighborhood lake shortly before 11:30 p.m., police stated. Police described Neymir as nonverbal and on the autism spectrum.
Neymir last was seen about 4:30 p.m. at his house on Northwest Wisk Fern Circle though was discovered missing shortly before a 911 call was made about 8:08 p.m.

Neymir lives in the home with other family members, police said.
Sgt. Dominick Mesiti, police spokesperson, on Nov. 18 stated several family members, including Neymir’s mother, teen sibling and aunts and cousins, were home when he went missing.
Police reported dozens of investigators and a variety of resources came to the scene to search for the child, whose body was found in a lake.
“While the investigation is still active and ongoing, foul play is not suspected,” police stated.
