TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A fundraiser for a three-year-old boy who was killed by gunfire in Tallahassee has garnered over $13,000.
On Sunday, November 9, the boy, now identified as Kane Josiah Amir Thomas, died from a gunshot wound near Augustus Oak Court, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. He attended Brownsville Prep.
A friend of Thomas’s family started the GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
The fundraiser describes Thomas’s mother as “a devoted mother, friend and servant in the Tallahassee community.”
According to LCSO, detectives are still reviewing evidence, conducting interviews and working through the investigative steps.
Last week, an LCSO spokesperson said that those who may have been associated with the incident were identified and that no one was detained or arrested.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the GoFundMe has raised $13,996.
