TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A local nonprofit hosted a public forum on restorative justice with those who caused harm or were on the receiving end of it.
Connection First operates an adult restorative justice program in the community to facilitate safe conversations between parties in a criminal offense or community conflict.
Those who went through the program shared their experience and how it helped them.
“It provides a space for us to get it right, to heal, to acknowledge the wrong,” Andra’ Robinson, a Restorative Justice participant, said. ”And it gives liberty and mobility to all the people involved and I think that’s critical work.”
Officials at Connection First said they are working with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office to get into schools to offer prevention and intervention tools for the youth.
