ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando District 5 Commissioner Shan Rose is pushing back against an election challenge, calling it “frivolous” and questioning her opponent’s eligibility to even file the lawsuit.
Rose’s legal team filed a response this week to former Commissioner Regina Hill’s election challenge in circuit court. The response not only denies Hill’s allegations of election misconduct but also claims Hill lacks standing to bring the suit, asserting she doesn’t reside in District 5.

Hill’s lawsuit contests the results of this month’s election, alleging Rose’s campaign engaged in vote buying through health screenings and visa gift cards. The complaint also accuses Rose’s team of illegal ballot harvesting.
When reached for comment about Rose’s response, Hill’s attorney avoided addressing the specific denials but maintained his client’s District 5 residency.
The attorney said Hill “looks forward to proving it in court.”
Election results showed Rose receiving more than 50% of the vote and defeating Hill, who earned just over 30%.
