A man was killed in a crash that shut down the eastbound lanes of Northwest 36th on Thursday morning near Doral, according to authorities.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at around 6:10 a.m. before Milam Dairy Road (Northwest 72nd Avenue).
The sheriff’s office said a preliminary investigation revealed that a male driver hit another vehicle and then a tree.
The man was rushed by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, but he did not survive. His name was not immediately released.
The female driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.
Video of the scene showed an SUV smashed against a fallen palm tree, and heavy delays as deputies redirected traffic.
MDSO Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating, and more information about what may have caused the crash was not provided.
