GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Thanksgiving is just a week away and there are plenty of events to celebrate around North Central Florida.

Friday, Nov. 21:Palm’s Medical Group hosts a Thanksgiving food giveaway in Bell (1830 N Main St, Bell, FL 32619). The event starts at 10 a.m.. Westside International invites you to a Thanksgiving Dinner with music, games and food. The event takes place at Westside Baptist Church, located on Newberry Road. The event starts at 7 p.m. You must register beforehand. It is $5 per person.Palms Medical Group is hosting its annual food giveaway at its Bell office located at 1830 N Main St. The giveaway starts at 10 a.m.. Saturday, Nov. 22:Bread of the Mighty is hosting its third annual Harvest Helpings, providing food for those facing food insecurity in Alachua County. The event starts at 9 a.m. at 6125 NW 18th Drive in Gainesville. Christian Worship Center (815 North Division Street, Micanopy) hosts a free Thanksgiving Dinner.New Beginnings of Central Florida (415 Citrus Tower Blvd, Clermont) hosts a free community Thanksgiving. The event will be held in the parking lot. Sunday, Nov. 23: Victory Chapel in Gainesville hosts a Thanksgiving Church Dinner. NFL Player D’Ernest Johnson will be giving away turkeys at Lincoln Park. There is a limit of one turkey per family and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 1 p.m..Greenhouse Church hosts Friends-Bringing immediately following the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services.Wednesday, Nov. 26:Popular Gainesville chicken sandwich spot Germain’s will be hosting a Friendsgiving. They will have free food and drinks. Ask how you can help.Thursday, Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving):High Springs Lions Club (26900 West US Hwy 27, High Springs, Florida) hosts a Thanksgiving Feast. They ask that you bring a side dish, dessert, or just yourself. They also accept canned or boxed food for their food drive.The 6th annual Carver Park Thanksgiving feast takes place in Ocala on the corner of Highway 40 and Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Temple of the Universe hosts Thanksgiving dinner beginning at noon. They kindly ask you to bring a dish that feeds 10-12 people. The Collective Food Yard & Garden hosts a free Thanksgiving dinner in Fort White.Saturday, Nov. 29:Ichetucknee Yoga Club (27627 Mulkey Rd, Branford) hosts a potluck feast. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
