ORLANDO, Fla. – Ria Bhakta concluded her run at the NCAA Individual Championships in Orlando, Fla. after becoming the first Tiger since 2018 to qualify.

Bhakta started the week out strong claiming a 7-5, 6-4 win over Xinyi Nong of Florida. Bhakta concluded her run at the NCAA Individual Championships after a 6-0, 6-3 loss to 106 ITA preseason ranked Savannah Dada-Mascoll of Appalachian State on Wednesday.

Thoughts from Head Coach Boomer Saia:

“Ria’s journey to NCAAs has been quite remarkable. With her being out last year it was such an amazing thing to watch her compete again this fall and see the results she achieved. Ria is hungry to get better each and everyday and that directly helped her make it to Orlando this past week! I’m excited to watch her and our team this spring. They are a special group and can’t wait to be back on court with them in January.”

Next up, the Tigers will compete begin their spring season with a home opener vs Mercer on Jan. 16th at The Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
