TAMPA, Fla. — Winter Village returns to Curtis Hixon Park tonight at 5 p.m., officially launching Tampa’s holiday season.
Tampa’s Downtown Partnership expects more than 250,000 visitors over the next six weeks as families, locals, and tourists flock to the popular waterfront attraction. This year’s winter festival marks the tenth anniversary ofthe event.
The outdoor ice-skating rink is Winter Village’s biggest attraction, and organizers say sessions fill quickly. Visitors are encouraged to reserve skating times online to guarantee a spot.

But even if skating isn’t on your agenda, there’s plenty to enjoy.
This year’s Winter Village also features music, food, vendors, holiday decorations and seasonal treats.
Ivy Lupco, Manager of Public Placemaking and Programming for Tampa’s Downtown Partnership, said visitors that don’t want to deal with the parking crunch on busy nights should leave the car at home.
“We have a lot of transportation options in Tampa’s downtown,” Lupco said. “You can rideshare, bicycle in, or use Dash Tampa, our downtown area shared hub program. We also encourage you to walk in and enjoy the entire Riverwalk.”
Winter Village is open tonight through January 5, with special ice-skating shows scheduled for opening weekend, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve.
