ORLANDO, Fla. — There are few TV icons as recognizable as Tony Danza. And if you’ve never seen him live on stage, Central Florida is about to host him.
1. Tony Danza is perhaps best known for his roles on TV’s “Who’s the Boss” and “Taxi.”
2. He is also the creator of “Tony Danza: Standards and Stories,” which he performs all over the country.
3. “It’s much like those TV variety shows — Ed Sullivan, Dean Martin,” he said. “Whoever had a show. What they would have is a host and all the other acts. Well, in this, I’m the host and all of the other acts.”
4. Danza said he’s able to provide audiences “an escape” for an hour and a half. “That’s my job, that’s my job. It’s funny. I was thinking about this. For one hour and a half, you don’t think about anything else,” Danza said.
5. You can see Danza in person on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Clermont Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Visit www.danzaevent.com for more info.
