The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed two people and hospitalized two others.
The crash happened on Sunday in Orange County around 6 p.m., according to a press release from FHP.
An 18-year-old man and his 17-year-old passenger, in a 2023 Ford Mustang, were traveling south on Rock Springs Road, approaching the intersection of Alexandria Place Drive.
A 63-year-old driver traveling in a 2021 Ford E350 van was heading north on Rock Springs Road toward the same intersection with two passengers, an 81-year-old man and a 94-year-old woman.
The teen driver was speeding and crashed into the E350 as the van was trying to turn left to travel west on Alexandria Place Drive, according to the report.
First responders took both teens to the Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
The driver of the E350 remained on-scene, but one passenger died at the scene, while the other died at AdventHealth Apopka.
The 63-year-old driver was from Orlando, while the van passengers and Mustang driver and passenger were from Apopka.
The crash remains under investigation.
