TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A man was convicted nearly a week ago in connection to a shooting that occurred in Tallahassee in 2021 and left two people injured.
Donta’ious Weston was found guilty of attempted second-degree murder and battery after a two-day trial, the State Attorney’s Office of the Second Judicial Circuit of Florida revealed in a press release Monday morning.

His guilty verdict comes nearly four years after the shooting happened at the Mission Hills apartment complex.
On December 11, 2021, Tallahassee Police were dispatched to the apartment complex due to reports of people being shot near an apartment, per the state attorney’s office.

Prosecutors said Weston got into a fight during a party at the apartment and began shooting, leaving a woman injured in the right abdomen and a man “laying in the road who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”
Weston is expected to be sentenced in January.
