LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon County man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman in the neck outside a Lanier Street home.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim laying on the porch bleeding from her neck. Deputies met with Brent Longenfeld, 45, who had blood on his hands, shoes and shirt, according to arrest papers.
Deputies say Longenfeld told them he took the knife from the woman and “swung it at her.”

According to arrest documents, Longenfeld and the victim had been living together for the past eight years. A witness explained they had gone to a theme park the day of the stabbing and had been arguing all day.
The victim, according to documents, said she did not feel safe with Longenfeld. He responded by pulling out his pocket knife that he says he carries for protection, according to deputies.

Once home, the victim and Longenfeld continued to argue in the front yard, documents show.
Deputies searched the property after the stabbing and found the pocketknife that matched the description of the one Longenfeld carried with blood on it.
Brent was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He was denied bond Monday morning.
