TAMPA – Hillsborough County Public Schools has announced it will open a new middle school in Wimauma in the fall of 2027.

The new school, which will be located next to Aquilla J. Morgan High School, will help relieve overcrowding at several neighboring middle schools, the school board said.

The new facility was approved at the Nov. 18 School Board meeting. Hillsborough County Public Schools will host parent and community meetings to review school programs and gather feedback.

The community meetings will be:

• Dec. 11, 6-7p.m. – Eisenhower Middle School Cafeteria (7620 Old Big Ben Road, Gibsonton)

• Jan. 15, 6-7 p.m. – Shields Middle School Cafeteria (15732 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin)
