FORT PIERCE – One person is dead following a shooting incident which occurred at about 12:27 p.m., Nov. 24, in the 1200 block of North 27th Street, Fort Pierce, according to Fort Pierce Police reports.
At about 12:27 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call from the 1200 block of North 27th Street, Fort Pierce related to a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived on the scene, they learned that during an altercation within a group of men, a 23-year-old Black man sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, according to police reports.
Police have not yet released any names.
Preliminary investigations indicate this is an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the public, police said.
