Six area high school boys’ soccer players were recently named to the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association All-State team.

The NCSCA released all-state for all eight classifications with two local players making the 6-A team and four being named to the 5-A team as voted on by coaches across the state.

Here is a look at area players named all-state: 

6-A

Landon Adams, Jacksonville: The junior forward is all-state for the second consecutive season after he led the Cardinals in scoring with 16 goals and 11 assists, helping them go 16-5-2 overall and advancing to the fourth round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

Jude Sawyer, Jacksonville: The senior forward tallied 11 goals and 10 assists to help the Cardinals go 9-1 in the Big Carolina 6-A/7-A Conference for their ninth consecutive league title. 

5-A

Isaiah Betton, Richlands: The junior forward is all-state for the second consecutive season after he led the Wildcats in scoring with 44 goals and nine assists to help them go 19-3-2 overall and 11-1 in the Coastal 5-A/6-A Conference for their first league crown since 2006.

Nate Dozier, Northside: The senior defender is a repeat all-state player after he compiled 13 goals and two assists and once again was one of the area’s best defenders in helping the Monarchs go 15-6-2 overall, 8-4 in the Coastal 5-A/6-A Conference and advance to the third round of the NCHSAA 5-A playoffs for their first postseason wins in team history.

Aidan Teller, Dixon: The junior midfielder/forward is all-state for the second straight year after he led the Bulldogs in scoring with 23 goals and nine assists to help them go 14-7-1 overall and 8-3-1 in the Coastal 5-A/6-A Conference.

Tyler Thorpe, Croatan: The senior midfielder led the Cougars in scoring with 13 goals and eight assists to help them finish 8-15-2 overall and 6-6 in the Coastal 5-A/6-A Conference following a tough start and advance to the third round of the NCHSAA 5-A playoffs.
