“That’s a big thing in football,” tight end Brenton Strange said. “There’s always going to be adversity at some point in time in the game, and I think that we do a good job of just sticking together. Coach Liam always says we want to come like this right here (close motion with interlocking fingers).
“It’s great that we do that, and we’ve got to continue to do that for the rest of the year, and I think it’ll take us to the places that we want to go.”
The Jaguars this season are 5-3 in 1-score games after finishing 3-10 in such games last season. They beat the Houston Texans 17-10 in Week 3, the San Francisco 49ers 26-21 in Week 4, the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 in Week 5 and the Las Vegas Raiders, 30-29, in overtime in Week 9.
“It’s a different team [this season],” Strange said. “We have a lot of the same guys, but we’ve been through those things before. We’ve been on the other side, and we understand what it takes, and we understand what we have to do.
“Another thing is our preparation. We work hard every single week, come out of practice, and we do what we need to do during the week for practice, and I think that it pays off during the game.”
