Kudos to the Trump Administration for securing the release of Cuban political prisoner José Daniel Ferrer from a regime dungeon. The 55-year-old democracy activist, who arrived in Miami with his family on Monday, is one of the most committed Cuban dissidents alive today. He’s more valuable to the liberty movement now that he isn’t behind bars.

Mr. Ferrer’s ordeal goes back to March 2003, which came to be known as the Black Spring, when the Cuban regime rounded up and handed long sentences to some 75 political organizers, journalists and human-rights activists. Their wives, mothers, sisters and aunts founded the Ladies in White to protest the lack of due process and their inhumane prison conditions.
