Cape Coral Fire Department is collecting toys and gifts for children in need through Dec. 15 at all 13 Cape Coral fire stations and in the lobby of City Hall, 1015 Cultural Park Blvd. Donations of new items for newborns through age 17 are welcome, with a particular need for gifts for teens, such as gift cards, personal care items, arts and crafts, sports equipment and entertainment items. Collection sites include Station 1, 4610 Coronado Parkway; Station 2, 521 Nicholas Parkway; Station 3, 1627 Everest Parkway; Station 4, 2007 Santa Barbara Blvd.; Station 5, 1029 Diplomat Parkway; Station 6, 4540 Chiquita Parkway; Station 7, 3942 Burnt Store Road N.; Station 8, 707 SW First St.; Station 9, 4107 Pelican Blvd.; Station 10, 3623 Gator Circle W; Station 11, 1038 Burnt Store Road; Station 12, 2129 Chiquita Blvd.; and Station 13, 2025 NE Sixth St. Last year, the department provided toys and gifts to nearly 200 families and more than 1,000 children, and Fire Chief Michael Russell said the drive continues to grow thanks to the generosity of the community.
