Sunrise Airways is expanding its South Florida footprint with the launch of new service between Cap-Haïtien and Fort Lauderdale, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The flights, which begin Dec. 15, 2025, will operate three days a week — Monday, Wednesday and Friday — between Cap-Haïtien International Airport and Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport.

The Cap-Haïtien-to-Fort Lauderdale flight, operating as S6 612, departs at 10:00 a.m. and arrives at noon. The return flight, S6 611, leaves Fort Lauderdale at 1:15 p.m. and arrives in Cap-Haïtien at 3:15 p.m.

Fort Lauderdale becomes Sunrise Airways’ second destination in Florida. The company began daily Miami service in Oct. 2023, strengthening its position as a Haiti-focused carrier with growing links to the United States.

“The addition of Fort Lauderdale to our route network creates an attractive second option linking Haiti and South Florida,” said Gary Stone, CEO of Sunrise Airways. “We’re thrilled to expand our footprint in the Sunshine State and look forward to connecting more of the Caribbean with the U.S. via South Florida in the near future.”

Sunrise Airways will operate the new route with Airbus A320 aircraft. The planes will offer a single cabin configuration with seating for up to 179 passengers, including all-leather seats across the cabin.

The new Fort Lauderdale service is part of the carrier’s broader strategy to grow Haiti’s air connectivity and broaden access for travelers across the region.
