OLD TOWN, Fla. (WCJB) – Dixie County deputy Cody Pope is recovering and is receiving help from the community after he was injured in a shooting Saturday.
The Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association gave a big check to the sheriff’s office on Sunday.
It’s funded in part by their Lend a Hand Program, where people donate money, and it is dispersed to deputies and officers who were injured in the line of duty.
All that money will go towards helping Deputy Pope in his recovery.
