KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A 23-year-old was arrested following a Friday afternoon Miami County police chase.
According to the Paola, Kansas, Police Department, it started at around 1:08 p.m. on Friday, November 29, when officers located a reportedly stolen vehicle from Overland Park.
Authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the car at the intersection of Holly Lane and Baptiste Drive, but the car fled, eventually getting on NB-169 Hwy.
With help from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, the car was pursued until stop sticks were deployed by the Spring Hill Police Department at 169 Hwy. and 215 St.
The fleeing vehicle lost control and came to a stop north of 215th St. The driver, 23-year-old Skyler Chacon, was taken into custody and taken to the Miami County Jail.
Chacon is charged with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, no driver’s license and numerous traffic infractions.
No injuries were reported during the incident. The case remains under investigation.
