The morning after a boat crash on the Caloosahatchee River near Cape Coral killed one person, the search continued for another person on the boat who was still missing.
Various law enforcement agencies, including dive teams, were on the river early Sunday morning (Nov. 30) conducting a recovery operation.
The boat flipped and was left upside down in the river at approximately 5 p.m. on Nov. 29, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. There were four people on the boat. The deceased was taken to the hospital before being pronounced dead, according to the FWC.

The identities of the boaters have not been released. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, a busy time for boating in Southwest Florida.

FWC said they, Cape Coral Police Department, Cape Coral Fire Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County EMS responded.
