Abdul Robinson Jr., 30, faced a first-degree murder charge in the murder case of Charles McCormick and was set to go on trial before he pleaded guilty.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The brother of Jacksonville rapper Ksoo was sentenced to 12 years in prison in Duval County court Wednesday after pleading guilty to an accessory after the fact charge in a murder his brother was sentenced to life in prison for.

Abdul Robinson Jr., 30, faced a first-degree murder charge in the murder case of Charles McCormick and was set to go on trial before he pleaded guilty.

His brother Ksoo, whose real name is Hakeem Robinson, and Leroy Whitaker Jr. were sentenced to life in prison on Oct. 1 for McCormick’s murder.

Dominique Barner, also known as “Butta,” a confessed accomplice to the murder, testified in Robinson and Whitaker’s trial that he, Robinson, Robinson Jr. and Whitaker went to where McCormick lived to devise a plan for the murder, and that all of them wanted to kill McCormick.

Prosecutors said Robinson killed McCormick because of gang conflicts and a “diss track” he released making fun of Robinson’s stepbrother’s death.

McCormick was 23 years old.
