FORT PIERCE – Fort Pierce Police have identified the victim who was fatally injured during an altercation on Nov. 24 in the 1200 block of North 27th Street, Fort Pierce.
The victim is Gregory Carson, 23, of Fort Pierce.
Police are actively searching for the suspect, described as a young Black man with a medium complexion, about 6 feet tall with a slender build and a short haircut.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black t-shirt, a black skull cap and grey joggers.
At about 12:27 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call from the 1200 block of North 27th Street, Fort Pierce related to a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived on the scene, they learned that during an altercation within a group of men, one of them, later identified as Carson, sustained a gunshot wound.
Carson was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, according to police reports.
