The South County Regional Library in Estero is set to reopen at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, after an extensive renovation.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, with government officials in attendance. Those unable to join can watch it live on Lee County’s YouTube or Facebook channels.

The library, located at 21100 Three Oaks Parkway, underwent a complete interior and exterior renovation. This includes new service desks, an expanded children’s area, a dedicated teen space, and improved adult areas with new public computers.

The building, originally opened in 1996, now features updated public restrooms, improved entrance aesthetics, and mechanical system enhancements. The $10 million project was funded by existing library funds.

Regular operating hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

A community celebration is planned for 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 10, featuring live music, crafts, and giveaways.
