PORT ST. LUCIE – A 50-year-old Port St. Lucie woman was charged with DUI on Nov. 28 after her car crashed into a restaurant in the 1400 block of Northwest St. Lucie Boulevard in Port St. Lucie, according to police reports.
Colleen Mcguirl Brown is in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $5,000 bond for DUI as of Dec. 1, according to jail records.
Port St. Lucie police responded to a crash at about 5 p.m., Nov. 28 where a car hit the front entrance of Roy’s Sushi Thai & Grill in the 1400 block of Northwest St. Lucie Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers saw that the building’s front exterior and door frame were damaged, according to police reports. No injuries were reported, police said.
During the investigation, officers determined that Brown, driver of the car, was impaired and subsequently arrested her for DUI. Breath samples later collected measured 0.101 and 0.102 breath alcohol concentration, according to police reports. The legal limit in Florida is .08 breath alcohol concentration.
A urine sample was also collected for additional toxicology screening.
The case was turned over to the State Attorney’s Office.
Brown is also being held on no bond for possession of clonazepam; possession of cocaine; and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
The restaurant was closed for business following the accident, but re-opened the next day, according to a Facebook posting by restaurant officials.
