SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — It wasn’t your typical eviction notice.
On Tuesday, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) shared on Facebook that deputies were called to remove an unexpected holiday guest: a 14-foot alligator weighing nearly 600 pounds.
The post humorously asked, “How many deputies does it take to evict a 14-foot gator?” The answer? Seven brave deputies and one skilled trapper.

The massive reptile had apparently settled in for the season, but authorities had other plans. After a coordinated effort, SCSO said that the alligator was safely captured and relocated to an alligator farm, where it will live out its days far from suburban backyards.
The Sheriff’s Office signed off with a playful farewell, “See ya later, Alligator!” A funny end to a wild encounter.
