Lee County Utilities has announced a water outage and a boil water notice for neighborhoods along Orange River Boulevard, east of Interstate 75, starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8.
The outage will impact 460 residences and three commercial sites, including an Extended Stay America Select Suites and a Circle K. Water service is expected to be restored by 3 p.m. the same day, at which point the Boil Water Notice will take effect.
The affected areas include Amanda Lane, Arcies Lane, Blooming Blossom Court, and more. The outage is part of the Lee County Orange River Boulevard Sidewalk and Utility Improvements Project.

Residents should boil water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing their teeth, or washing dishes for at least one minute, or use bottled water as an alternative. The precautionary measure is necessary since water pressure will drop below 20 psi.
Lee County Utilities will lift the notice once bacteriological tests confirm the water is safe, which typically takes 48 to 72 hours.
