The Bill Hebrock Eagledome will be the site of one of Florida junior college basketball’s premier showcases this weekend.
Starting Friday, Dec. 5, Tallahassee State will host the 23rd annual Florida Shootout on campus, featuring 14 teams from the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Region 8.

The tournament runs through Sunday, Dec. 7.
Tallahassee State enters the tournament rolling, holding a 10-1 record and ranked 20th in the nation. Led by third-year head coach Corey Hendren, the Eagles last hosted and defeated South Georgia Technical College 79-66 at the Eagledome.
Freshman guard Shane Cherry is the Eagles’ leading scorer with a point average of 18.5.
Including the hosting team, Tallahassee State, the Florida Hoops Shootout features five ranked teams: No. 5 Northwest Florida State College, No. 6 Daytona State College, No. 7 Gulf Coast State College, and No. 13 Chipola College.
Rounding out the 14-team event are Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Pensacola State, Florida Southwestern, Eastern Florida State, Polk State, St. Petersburg College, Indian River State, and Santa Fe College.

Tallahassee State will tip off the three-day Florida Shootout versus Hillsborough on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Eagledome.
All games can be watched via Tallahassee State’s online streaming service.
