Tallahassee Winter Festival cancelled with rain lasting through the day

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The City of Tallahassee announced Saturday the winter festival is cancelled with consistent rain expected throughout the day.

City officials announced the cancellation on Facebook. “While a difficult decision, as this spirited event is a cherished tradition for many, the safety of our community, event participants and staff is paramount,” the post said.

According to the city, the cancellation includes the Jingle Bell Run, the Nighttime Holiday Parade, along with the lighting ceremony.

Candy Cane Lane will open in McCarty Park during the following dates and times:

Dec. 8-11 from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12-13 from 6 to 11 p.m. Dec. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m.

McCarty Park is located in downtown Tallahassee’s Chain of Parks.
