A beloved breakfast spot on St. Pete Beach has gotten a fresh start—and it’s in the same familiar location locals have loved for years. The Copper Kettle is now open at 7390 Gulf Boulevard in the former home of The Frog Pond, led by a familiar face: Alex Victorero, who managed The Frog Pond for more than a decade.

Building upon the legacy of The Frog Pond, The Copper Kettle offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch plates, all coming in hefty portions. The restaurant soft opened last week and has its grand opening this Saturday. The Copper Kettle is open from 7 am – 2 pm Monday-Saturday and 8 am – 2 pm on Sundays. You can see the full menu here.

A new chapter for a treasured St. Pete Beach restaurant

After 11 years of running one of the most popular St. Pete Beach restaurants, Alex and his wife, Nikki Victorero, are stepping into ownership with a new concept that honors the past while building something all their own.

Back in March, the couple shared their excitement with the community. “Managing the Frog Pond for the last 11 years has been such a great privilege and true pleasure,” Alex wrote. “Nikki and I are hard at work trying to open your favorite place for breakfast on the beaches, same location.”

Although they weren’t able to acquire the Frog Pond name, their mission remains clear: bring back the same warm hospitality, big portions and familiar faces locals cherished.

In a heartfelt Facebook video, Alex added, “It has been my pride and joy to serve this community. We’ve put in countless hours—blood, sweat and tears—to get this place up and running.”

Community-inspired comfort food

The Victoreros want The Copper Kettle to feel like home. They asked for input on the menu, and the community responded loud and clear. Top requests included the Krab and cream cheese omelet, cheese blintzes, the classic lox platter, the much-loved breakfast croissant sandwich and, of course, cinnamon swirl French toast.

Nikki teased what guests can expect: “Big portions, outstanding customer service and some familiar faces.”

Rebuilding after the storm

After back-to-back hurricanes in 2024, the path to reopening wasn’t easy. The Victoreros have worked tirelessly to renovate the space and bring it back to life, creating a restaurant that pays tribute to The Frog Pond’s legacy while introducing a fresh identity to the St. Pete Beach dining scene.

The Copper Kettle soft opened last week, and has its official grand opening this Saturday, December 6.
